Conclusion

We successfully designed and launched a model rocket and obtained data with which we could apply some of the major concepts studied in Physics 30 related to kinematics and dynamics. The rocket achieved an altitude of approximately 50m, the average velocity during ascent was approximately 10m/s and the average velocity during descent was approximately 6m/s. The acceleration during the thrust phase was calculated to be 71m/s2, the maximum velocity achieved during the thrust was calculated to be 58m/s, and the velocity of the rocket upon impact with the ground was calculated to be -85m/s.
